The Hall has Reopened - and We're Hiring!

First of all, we're pleased to say that the Hall reopened on Wednesday 2nd December for new and existing classes, and that until the end of February 2021 we will be offering the Hall for hire at a discount of 50% to reflect the fact that COVID-19 regulations have meant that many hirers have seen a reduction in class sizes. Please note, however, that due to the regulations we are unable to accept bookings for private parties at the present time.

Secondly, we are looking to hire a Hall Premises Manager in January. See below for further details.

Premises Manager at Westhampnett Community Hall

A unique opportunity has arisen to serve the local residents of Westhampnett as the Premises Manager at the Hall. The Hall was opened in November 2019 and offers local residents a state-of-the-art venue for private bookings and regular classes and events.

The role would involve the general supervision and care of the Hall, including bookings, day-to-day contact with hirers / potential hirers / tradespeople, general maintenance and cleaning. The role would involve a commitment of working 15 hours a week on a flexible basis and thus would particularly suit a local resident. The successful candidate would be self-employed.

The essential attributes of a successful candidate would be:

-have good personal skills with particular regard to Hall hirers and potential hirers

-show working hours flexibility and a positive 'can do' attitude

-a working knowledge of email and Excel

-basic practical skills for dealing with any general maintenance issues that arise

-a team player with the successful candidate being required to work closely with the Parish Clerk, Hall Committee and Parish Council

-become one of the Hall keyholder's and thus be available for call-out.

Please note: The Premises Manager would not be expected to deal with Hall and hirer financial issues.

Any candidate would be asked to provide a character reference and be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Person/s interested in this unique local role should provide their details and CV to the Chair of the Westhampnett Community Hall Committee via the Hall gmail. (westhampnetthall@gmail.com)

Interviews for the position will be held in January 2021.
